Flautas, the Mexico City version of Fried Tacos,

Deep Fried Chicken Tacos, locally know in Mexico City as Flautas (flute)

When people say they want Mexican for dinner, this is the simplest most perfect way to go, fresh, children friendly, Coeliac friendly, ready in minutes
Serves 4 people

16 Tortillas 14CM White Corn @MXflavour
1 can Salsa Verde @MXflavour
1/4 cup Olive oil (or your preffered oil)
1 cup tightly packed Shredded Roasted Chicken
1 Cos Lettuce
Thickened Cream (optional)
Crumbled fetta cheese (optional)
16 Toothpicks

Carefully remove the lettuce and soak in cold water with a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar to remove sprays and pesticieds.

You could make the flautas in a hot pan or on the panini maker:
1 spray the tortillas on both sides with olive oil
Heat 30 seconds on each side to maintain heat and pile up (to maintain heat and flexibility)
2 Spread some shredded chicken on one end of the tortilla and roll tightly, inserting a toothpick so it doesn't come undone and place back on medium/hot pan with about 1tbsp of oil.
3 turn around so all sides become crispy and remove from pan
4 add more oil as required until you finish all the tacos

To serve:
5 Place one flauta over a whole leaf cos lettuce
6 Pour sour cream, fetta cheese, salsa verde on top
